Queer Divestment: A Response to This Is What I Want 2015

Six performers stood with their backs pressed up against the wall as I entered Counterpulse with other audience members for the final Sunday night iteration of the This Is What I Want queer performance festival on May 31, 2015. Immediately, a choice had to be made between sitting down in the rake-style seating to view the tableau of bodies on display in profile or walking on stage for a closer look. The provocation was clear and underlined how desire would be individually and collectively negotiated throughout each of the three scheduled performances; what do you want?
